January & February were busy with inside jobs & projects.

We made tartlets with our own raspberry jam - quite delicious! We made some lovely Air Dry clay creations.

We wheel barrowed 2 tons of Viridor compost into the polytunnel. We covered the pathways with light excluding material to stop the grass & weeds growing. It looks & smells ready for planting.

We grew mushrooms from a kit and were delighted with the results. The mushrooms were huge & delicious!

We did some creative cooking - including a 'Sunday evening pie'!

At last it was time to sow the seed! Germination was good & fast so we were able to prick out seedlings only a week after sowing.

Great excitement! We have frog spawn in the pond in the polytunnel! It has meant we had to catch the 2 goldfish and put them in another container so that they don't eat the tadpoles!

And then the snow came. TWICE! I wrapped up the seedling trays in 4 layers of fleece and amazingly they survived in the greenhouse!

We will soon be planting out and looking forward to picking & selling our leaves.
