The seasonal change in the weather has meant a 'shutting down' of our garden.
We have emptied the beds - with help from Islay! - and covered them in black plastic to kill off all the weeds.
We planted 42 Joan J Raspberry canes through the weed-controlled membrane. We then put cardboard snugly around the stems to suppress weeds & protect from frost.
Carnival season came again!
As part of our 'Independence Training' we proudly sent one learner off on his first solo bus journey. Very emotional for us - not for him!
More jet hosing at the Sheppey in Godney.
Making lemon & peppercorn soap, and Apple & Blackberry crumble.
Tie Dying!
Ironing was a new skill for some!
All were justifiably proud!
Making wreaths with foliage from the garden, and painting pots for croqus bulbs.
We would like to say a huge thanks to T. Wicks & Son of Wells for giving us some old cardboard boxes to use on the beds in the Spring.
May I wish all my learners at New Leaf a very Happy Christmas! I look forward to seeing you in 2017!
I would also like to thank The Sheppey, The Good Earth and Sabina for all your support and we look forward to working with you in 2017.
